Registration Types
The Bull Terrier Club offers two forms of registration: partial and full.



Partial or limited registration simply means that the dog is unable to produce registry-eligible offspring. This is ideal for dogs bred for conformation who exceed the height limit, or for dogs lacking the athleticism or skill to perform well in working disciplines. These dogs are essentially pets and are typically spayed or neutered. These dogs' registration will not be forwarded to the SKC.

Full registration is recommended for dogs who may at some point be used for breeding stock. These are dogs with careers in the show ring or on the trail or in whatever SKC-affiliated discipline their owners elect to participate in. These dogs are free of disqualifying faults or hereditary defects. All offspring will be eligible for registration, and these dogs will receive SKC numbers.

Color Registration Types

We offer two forms of Color Registry

White Registry: Color is white though markings on the head are permissible. Any markings elsewhere on the coat are to be severely faulted.

Colored Variety (Non-white): The Standard for the Colored Variety is the same as for the White except for the sub head "Color" which reads: Color. Any color other than white, or any color with white markings. Other things being equal, the preferred color is brindle. A dog which is predominantly white shall be disqualified.



​Realism and you
Dogs with the following traits will not be eligible for registration:

• Blue eyes
• Unrealistic coats, including those not found in the breed and coats which do not resemble colors that are found in the breed*
• Duplicate premade coats*
• Severe conformation flaws*
• 2nd+ generation with unregistered parents
• Crossbreeds

Note: A dog with mild or moderate conformation flaws will not be turned away from registration as long as it can be recognized as a Bull Terrier and is, in fact, purebred. We use breed shows to judge the conformation of the dogs in our club and the reward for breeding dogs that fit the standard are high scores and prizes in these shows. You will therefore not be punished if your dogs do not meet the standard, but you will miss out on the rewards.
